Our client is seeking a detailed -oriented and organized Service Writer to join their team. The service writer will be responsible for efficiently managing the service department’s administrative tasks and ensuring seamless customer service.
Pay: $18-$25 D.O.E

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the status of all jobs in the service shop and proactively communicate updates to customers and store managers.
- Answer and manage the majority of calls to the Service Department, fielding customer inquiries and providing timely and accurate information. Open work orders, maintain control over them until closure, and ensure accurate invoicing.
- Assist the Shop Supervisor in maintaining a meticulously clean and professional shop environment, adhering to the Everything Speaks Philosophy.
- Support maintenance, security, safety, and environmental compliance efforts.
- Create purchase orders as needed, liaising with vendors to procure necessary equipment. Manage filing and records within the Service Department. Update customer profiles with relevant information obtained from work orders.
- Participate in monthly Service Safety meetings and assist in initial safety training for Service Technicians.
- Prepare Service Technician efficiency reports. Handle warranty and product improvement claims, including computation of charges, submission, and follow-up as required.
- Review technician notes in work orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Promptly report all customer complaints to the Service Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety rules and regulations at all times.
- Ensure proper training and inspection before operating any equipment.
- Follow safety rules, policies, procedures, and Job Safety Analysis for each job.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn JD Equip system.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to equipment operation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education or certification a plus.
This position may require occasional overtime and flexibility in work hours.
Other duties as assigned by management.
