Quality Control Technician
Pay: $28-$30/HR D.O.E.
Temporary Position


Job Summary:
Star Staffing is seeking a temporary Quality Control Technician to assist the QA Manager with daily quality control activities, including inspections and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect components from suppliers and in-house products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Create inspection plans for incoming and manufacturing inspections and document quality records.
  • Support Manufacturing by troubleshooting quality issues during production.
  • Work with Engineering and Operations to develop inspection plans for new products and equipment.
  • Complete inspection documentation and maintain equipment logs.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of equipment while following safety protocols.
  • Help the QA Manager with root cause analysis and corrective actions for process or customer issues.
  • Participate in internal audits to ensure adherence to policies.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, lean methods).
  • Use ERP systems (SAP) for tracking and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience in quality control or equivalent, plus 2 years as a Mechanical Technician.
  • Experience with engineering drawings, mechanical inspections, article inspections, and measuring parts.
  • Strong understanding of detail drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Ability to use or learn to use inspection tools and automated equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet quality standards.
  • Good math skills (addition, subtraction, ratios, percentages).
  • Team player with strong communication skills to work with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CMM/VMM equipment and metrology knowledge.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and quality improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods such as injection molding, machining, and automated assembly.
  • Ability to operate electronic measuring equipment and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
