Star Staffing is seeking skilled, reliable, and motivated Industrial Welders to join an innovative leader in steel fabrication This direct hire role is responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel components with a high level of precision to support successful field installations. 

$25.00-$28.00 depending on experience
4/10 shift Mon-Thurs with mandatory overtime
5am-3:30pm

Welder Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform FCAW welding using manual and semi-automatic equipment in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical)
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding procedure specifications (WPS)
• Set up welding machines, select proper wire, voltage, and amperage settings based on material type and thickness
• Inspect welds for accuracy, penetration, and overall quality; perform touch-ups or repairs as needed
• Safely operate hand and power tools such as angle grinders, hand grinders, and cutting torches
• Handle and move materials using proper rigging techniques (crane or hoist experience preferred)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality expectations
• Perform other duties as assigned related to fabrication and welding operations

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

• Previous welding experience or formal training required (minimum 2–3 years preferred)
• Must be able to pass a FCAW weld test in flat and horizontal positions (3/32” E70-T7-K2 wire)
• Strong understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy basics, and heat control
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, symbols, and measurements accurately
• Experience working with structural steel and thick materials
• Knowledge of weld quality standards and inspection practices
• Familiarity with fabrication tools and shop equipment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Basic math skills for measurements, layout, and material calculations
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials regularly
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching
• Manual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination required
• Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise, heat, and welding fumes
• Must maintain strong safety awareness at all times

Additional Requirements

• Experience operating cranes, hoists, or rigging equipment is a plus
• Familiarity with oxy-fuel cutting and torch use preferred
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
