$30-$35/HR D.O.E.
Monday thru Friday, plus Flexibility to work Saturday

Position Summary:
Star Staffing is currently hiring a Maintenance Mechanic Technician. This direct hire role involves performing set-ups, adjustments, preventative maintenance, and repairs on assigned equipment to ensure optimal production and quality output. The technician will work on a variety of equipment and may also be involved in building and grounds maintenance as needed. Supervisory duties over mechanics and contractors may be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10 years of collegiate-level technical or vocational training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10 years of equipment maintenance and repair experience in an environment with a successful preventative maintenance program.
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing operation requirements.
- Proven expertise in electrical systems (panel wiring & layout, AC/DC controls & drives), pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical systems, PLC, robotics, HVAC, and machine set-ups.
- Proficiency in using shop equipment such as lathe, CNC, milling, welding.
- Ability to fabricate components and assemblies from drawings and concepts.
- High level of mental and visual acuity, with the ability to perform physical tasks such as reaching, standing, lifting (up to 100 lbs.), bending, and squatting.
- Safety-oriented, self-motivated team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PC literacy.
- Familiarity with Total Quality Management (TQM) and ISO standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure on-time start-up and optimal performance of machinery.
- Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems with equipment, planning corrective actions as needed.
- Wire new equipment, read and develop electrical schematics for both new and existing equipment.
- Fabricate parts for existing and new equipment and assemble automated systems from parts and subassemblies.
- Test equipment, clear jams, and set aside products for inspection/rework as needed.
- Check equipment output for quality specifications using gauges and instruments, and document findings.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks to ensure equipment safety and optimal performance. Report issues to supervisor or engineering team.
- Identify and record causes of production delays, working to resolve them swiftly.
- Train equipment operators on the correct use of machinery, reviewing standard operating procedures and adjustment techniques.
- Communicate recurring issues or equipment malfunctions to production and engineering teams, ensuring prompt action is taken.
- Order replacement parts as needed to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on special projects.
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements (OSHA) and observe lockout/tagout procedures while servicing equipment.
- Report to work on time each day, ready to fulfill assigned job duties.
- Recommend improvements for new and existing equipment and processes.
- Perform other duties as needed.
