Assembler/ Cooperage Technician

Join a Wine Industry Supplier company in Benicia that specializes in the manufacturing of Corks and Wine Barrels. This opportunity offers room for advancement and opportunity to learn new skills.

What you’ll do:

As an Cooper you will be responsible for the successful construction of barrels, you will support a wide range of duties from barrel assembly, testing, quality control, repairs, operating equipment and general housekeeping while having the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment and  sense of urgency to meet daily production deadlines.

Top responsibilities:

• Responsible for preparation of designated production equipment for barrel manufacturing.
• Perform continuous quality checks during production runs for critical defects
•  Assist maintenance in troubleshooting and PM’s
• Cut and bundle wood according to production needs.
• Understand and maintain GMP practices
• Maintain work area clean and accordance to Safety protocols
• Other duties may be assigned to accomplish daily deadlines
• Must have a can-do attitude and demonstrate good communication and follow-up skills.

You’re good at:

• Physically inclined and must be able to move, sort, roll and flip toasting drums. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. 
• Stand for an extended period of time per day on concrete
• Self-motivated, reliable, a positive attitude and contributes a positive team culture
• Comply with Food Safety rules, regulations, policies, and dress code/ PPE requirements
• Ability to work in team orientated environment while multi-tasking in a fast-pace environment
• 1-2 years of manufacturing or production experience
• Oak/ Barrel knowledge is a plus

4/10 Alternative Schedule:  5am-3:30pm (Monday- Thursday)

Pay: $19/hr
