Accounting Specialist/Accounting Manager Position

General responsibilities:

  • Generate monthly detail invoices
  • Manage weekly A/P and A/R for 3 different companies
  • Pay out monthly expenses, yearly bonuses and Harvest checks
  • Bank  deposits
  • Balancing and closing books
  • Monthly bank reconciliations, A/P and A/R analysis
  • Manage fixed assets schedule and depreciation
  • Year end P/L review per Ranch
  • Month, Quarter, and Year-end processing
  • Prepare financial statements for CEO and CPA
  • Main point of contact for external financing and auditing projects
  • Manage customer grape purchase contracts and contract database
  • Yearly property county tax filling
  • Yearly vehicle registration process
  • Yearly EPA reporting
  • Record weekly payroll taxes and General Ledger postings
  • E- file weekly payroll taxes
  • Prepare quarterly payroll taxes, e-file payments
  • Cover for HR Mgr to process weekly Payroll,  Data entry and processing
  • Prepare payroll reports for yearly workers compensation audit
  • Produce W2’s and 1099’sAdministration duties and projects

During Harvest season:

  • Maintain harvest database with contract, block, and harvesting information
  • Reconcile pick sheets to winery weigh tags
  • Create weekly harvest sheets with payroll information for HR to process 
  • Process weekly harvest reports, ranch income and expenses
  • Prepare grapes invoice for customers

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • College degree in accounting or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • 5 years of accounting experience, preferable at a Vineyard Management company. 
  • High level of administration and accounting functions
  • Experience with cost analysis and auditing with financial statements and general ledger.
  • Experience payroll data entry processor
  • Strong MS Office and Accounting software in Blue Skies and Quick books

Required competencies:

  • The ability to communicate clearly with peers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to work productively and independently with little supervision 
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • Must have good judgment, versatility and flexibility
  • Must be able to maintain composure and accurately complete tasks and deadlines under pressure and with interruptions
  • English fluency required.  Spanish speaker a plus

Physical demands:

  • Standing/walking approximately 10% of shift 
  • Sitting at desk approximately 90% of shift
  • Ability to work on/through computer approximately 90% of shift 
  • Ability to use and communicate on telephones, daily 
  • Occasionally required to handle and move objects no more than 50 lbs
