Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our team. The Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all employees by implementing and maintaining effective safety programs and protocols. This role involves conducting safety inspections, developing safety policies, and providing training to staff.
Key Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures to comply with OSHA regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs and workshops for employees to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, and maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
- Develop and update emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure that all employees are prepared for potential emergencies.
- Monitor and ensure the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety-related equipment.
- Prepare and present safety reports and documentation to management, highlighting key issues, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest safety regulations, trends, and best practices, and recommend improvements to existing safety programs.
Qualifications:
Â
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Certification in Safety Management or Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferred.
- years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within [industry/sector].
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software.
