Retail Associate (Temp to Hire)
Sacramento, CA
 
Salary: 17.00 per hour
Schedule: 5 day work week, including weekends
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                       
  • Interfaces with retail customers and must be able to operate cash registers, handle money and handle material of various weights and dimensions.   
  • Partners with Line Leaders to understand business objectives; recommend approaches and practices to align workforce with the achievement of company goals. 
  • Handles material to include packing product into containers, sealing containers, and conducting clean-up as required.   
  • Stocks shelves with product; sorts, weighs, labels, and package merchandise. 
  • Provide customer service to include providing information and assisting customers with purchase. 
  • Engages in minor maintenance and housekeeping of the Grower Store. 
  • Maintains product quality by recognizing and understanding customer specifications, defective product, packets and/or packaging.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS                                                                               
Minimum level of education required   
  • High School Diploma or GED                 
Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience 
  • 1 year of retail/customer service experience. 
Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g. Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.) 
  • Experience interfacing with customers.   
  • Duties consist of repetitive tasks that are closely related and involve few choices.   
  • Skilled in identifying problems and assisting in solving.   
Total minimum number of years of experience required in lieu of degree (if applicable)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS SUMMARY 
Must be able to stand for long period of time and lift min. of 50 lb.  Constant bending, lifting carrying, twisting and grasping.  Store/office demands frequent speaking, both in person and by telephone; reading written reports and computer screens; operating computer keyboard and occasional climbing of ladders. 
WORK ENVIRONMENT  
 Retail store/office type environment with comfortable climate.  Occasional contact with outside elements when loading customer’s vehicle with product; cool temperature (65 F) in candy/bulk product production room; warehouse not heated or air-conditioned.
