Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Regulatory Compliance Specialist to ensure our production operations align with mandated compliance regulations. You will provide cross-functional support across winemaking, cellar operations, distillation, bottling, and distribution departments. This position plays a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, enhancing processes, and supporting winery initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay current on TTB laws and regulations relevant to winery operations.
- Reconcile and verify data integrity for compliance with federal excise tax and operations reports and state excise tax reports.
- File accurate monthly/semi-monthly Operations Reports and Tax Returns with appropriate agencies.
- Support Regulatory Affairs during external and internal audits by preparing documentation and coordinating responses.
- Assist in resolving inventory and other regulatory issues.
- File necessary notices or claims with regulatory agencies promptly.
- Conduct routine self-audits to ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date Regulatory Compliance License & Permit files.
- Train and develop new employees on compliance processes.
- Identify and implement best practices and workflow improvements.
- Support the development of systems to ensure data integrity in recordkeeping processes.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Accounting) or equivalent experience.
- 5-8 years of experience in alcohol-related regulatory guidelines (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with systems such as Vintrace and SAP.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and solve practical problems with minimal standardization.
- Experience in accounting within the alcoholic beverage industry.
- Works in various climates, indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Exposure to loud noise, fumes, toxic chemicals, and mechanical parts.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods and work on a computer for extended times.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
